When Vonage refused to cancel my account less than 3 business days after sign-up. I contacted my credit card company to alert them and to asked that the charges from Vonage been charged back to them. After a brief explanation my credit card company agreed to charge back the Vonage the setup charges but one of the representatives informed me that they had had many complaints about Vonage and the she herself had experience problems with them.
The main problem is that no matter who you ask and how many times, their representatives just blantantly refuse to cancel your account and insist that you use the service for 60 days, afterwhich of course you cannot get your initial fees refunded.
By the way, the Vonage people I spoke with when I signed by and almost every time thereafter were not English speaking. I actually asked one of them where she was located and she said she was in South America. Later spoke with a marketing person who Vonage who all but swore that they did not have employees outside of the U.S.
